Economics and Biology Student at UChicago.
Hello everyone! My name is Francisco Almaguer, and I am a third year student at the University of Chicago. As a two time peer mentor for incoming students, I have plenty experience showing off our lovely campus! When I'm not painting or discussing philosophy, I can be found wondering around Chicago.

Describe your college experience
I have loved my college experience to date. Initially I found it daunting to join such a big school, but quickly realized there were small things I could do to keep myself sane and still make new friends. College has pushed me to grow both academically and personally, from managing my own to schedule, navigating new challenges independently, and discovering what I'm truly passionate about. It hasn't always been easy, but every obstacle has taught me something valuable, and I'm grateful for the community and opportunities I've found along the way.
Tip for future students
I wish I had known how fast paced the quarter system is. Always take classes that you're interested in, and use the core to study something you wouldn't have studied otherwise.
Favorite class
Religion, Cosmos and Society! The texts were extremely fascinating. I had a wonderful professor who assigned us very interesting texts, and loved debating what we had in class of ~10 people.
Career goals
I aspire to be a consultant, in the life sciences field.
Ideal way to spend a free night
Reading, painting or being with my friends.
