Describe your college experience

My transition to college was definitely a scary one. It was overwhelming to be in a completely new environment away from everyone I'd known my entire life. But over time, I began to truly appreciate the college experience. I met my people all around college because I didn't shy away from introducing myself or asking to join in activities. I invited people I'd only recently met to events and it brought us closer together.

Tip for future students

Definitely try everything you think you might be interested in. Whether it's a class, a club, extracurricular, or even research area. This is one of the last times in life where you can try something, fail, and it's perfectly fine. There are tons of opportunities on campus full of people you'd never otherwise meet. And, it's very likely those people will become some of your best lifelong friends.

Favorite class

My favorite class was definitely Theater 80T. It was a great break from my math and physics classes and we were always active and practicing different acting techniques. I also met one of my best college friends in that class and it was a really good experience overall.

Career goals

I'd like to work at a renewable energy company to provide cheap energy to low-income neighborhoods.

Ideal way to spend a free night

Walking around campus with friends or exploring in the forest. If I just want a chill night, then I'd go to Banana Joe's and chill with some friends in one of the lounges.

Beverly Hills High School, Beverly Hills, California

Meeting point

Outside of Slug Stop on the University of California, Santa Cruz campus
