Describe your college experience

Coming to UD was a big adjustment for me. Classes got way harder than high school and there was so many things to focus on now that I was on my own. Luckily, by getting involved in many different groups on campus Delaware became home. I learned how to balance my coursework with my extracurricular commitments and work. I was able to build a great community and support system that's helped me grow and thrive the past few years. I'm always happy to share what I've learned and help others feel more confident as they start their own college journey.

Tip for future students

Get involved early, even if it's outside your comfort zone. Joining clubs, attending campus events, and talking to professors opened so many doors for me, from research opportunities to lifelong friendships. You don't have to have everything figured out on day one. Try new things, ask questions, and don't be afraid to step outside your comfort zone. Also leave your dorm door open the first few weeks!

Favorite class

My favorite class has been Cell and Tissue Engineering Lab. It gave me hands-on experience with techniques used in biomedical research and showed me how concepts from class translate into real applications. It also helped confirm my interest in biomaterials and drug delivery research, which is the field I hope to pursue after graduation.

Career goals

After college, I hope to work in the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry developing new drug delivery systems and biomaterials that improve patient care. I'm especially interested in nanomedicine and tissue engineering, and I plan to continue my education in a PhD to deepen my research experience.

Ideal way to spend a free night

On a week night, my ideal evening is grabbing dinner with friends on Main Street, then heading back to campus to get some studying done or just hang out and relax. On the weekends, I love being more social, whether that's going to a party, spending time with friends, or seeing what's happening around campus. I think one of the best parts of UD is that there's always something to do, whether you're looking for a fun night out or a more laid-back evening.
