I am an enthusiastic student that loves to work out and travel

Hello! I am Ellie, a sophomore at University of Colorado Boulder studying Business Administration and Film. I love staying active and hanging out with my friends. On the side, I do videography and photography as well as volunteering on student film sets. Also, I enjoy traveling and this year I had visited Argentina and Uruguay. My interests include tv shows, movies, calisthenics, vinyl collecting, and more! This year I would like to make newer connections and try new hobbies during my free time. Ultimately, I am passionate and always looking to strive for more.

Describe your college experience

At first, my transition to college was difficult-I had to overcome many challenges and find a good support system. Making friends was not easy for me, but after talking to many different groups of people, I found some individuals that enhanced my college experienced. Being involved in clubs that interested me had allowed me to make new connections. Some of my closest friends were made by socializing to people during the first week. I was lucky enough to have an amazing roommate and we aided each other during the most difficult times. College is about having new experiences and connections. So, by talking to as many people as possible and going to every campus event had ultimately elevated my experience.

Tip for future students

Some tips I would give to future students would be to put yourself out there and don't be afraid to attend college events. I realized that if I had talked to more people, I could have felt less lonely during my first month at college. I recommend any new student to get involved with a club or organization because there is so many benefits and connections you can make in them. If you are passionate about a specific interest, there are plenty of clubs with people who share that same enthusiasm. College is very different from high school and everyone is in the same situation as you. I also advise to hang out with people after class or on the weekend since it builds a stronger bond. Overall, it is important to socialize and find people who exchange similar values as yourself.

Favorite class

My favorite class so far has been my Introduction to Cine Studies class since I learned so much and found students who shared the same passion for film as I had. The class was inspiring and showed me the simple foundations of the elements included in various diverse films. From the cinematography to the music score, there was so much to unpack in these movies. I thoroughly appreciate what this class had taught and I cannot wait to take more.

Career goals

After college, I hope to partake in working for an accounting firm or work in the producing side of film. I really want to tie in my major of Business and my minor of Cinema Studies to work in the film industry as a producer. If that plan does not work out, I will strive to work in accounting and achieve my main goal of traveling the world. I intend to travel to numerous countries and explore the cultural mannerisms that take place. Additionally, I would love to document the places I travel to with videos and photos, eventually creating a digital travel diary for myself.

Ideal way to spend a free night

My ideal way to spend a free night would be by having a nice steak dinner with low lighting. I would eat as much as I possibly could and wind down with a cup of chamomile tea-that includes a splash a milk and some honey. While I am enjoying my tea, the movie La La Land would be playing on my tv screen. Also, I would be buried in my favorite fuzzy blanket, snuggled up whilst watching the entire movie. Afterward, I would take a steamy, boiling hot shower and do my entire skincare routine. Lastly, I would make sure the room is at least 67 degrees before falling asleep soundly.
