Describe your college experience

I grew up in a small town and went to a small public school in Washington. Coming from this background, I was definitely intimated by the size and competitiveness of the University and felt overwhelmed at times. Joining the Husky Marching Band gave me the opportunity to make many close friends that I still have today, and although the transition was a little rough and new, I adapted well by making new friends and using the Universities resources available. Since then, I have been able to achieve better grades, make more friends, explore Seattle, and join new clubs and find new opportunities around the city!

Tip for future students

Always attend class, even if attendance is not mandatory. Talk to your professors and TA's, they want you to succeed, so don't be afraid to ask questions! Tutoring is an amazing resource UW offers that has changed the game for me academically, and I still attend tutoring to this day! Make new friends and try new things! It is your first sense of freedom coming to college, and while school is important always make time for yourself and allow yourself to have fun at times!

Favorite class

My favorite class/series was Chem 143 and 153. I made some of the closest friends in that class by working through the course together, and although the class was difficult at times, I learned so much and had so much fun running experiments in the lab, laughing with my friends and the TA's, and I appreciate the academic challenge the course provided that pushed me to a higher level of thinking!

Career goals

After I graduate from the University of Washington, I hope to attend medical school to become an OBGYN and pursue research in women's medicine.

Ideal way to spend a free night

Calling up my friends to find dinner on the Ave to catch up and have a good laugh together! I would come home to my cat and play/pet him, and finish one of my many crochet projects that I've been working on.
