Describe your college experience
Moving from New York to Tampa was a big adjustment at first, but it ended up being one of the best decisions I’ve made. The University of Tampa has helped me grow both academically and personally through my classes, involvement on campus, and the friendships I’ve made. I’ve especially enjoyed the supportive professors and the opportunities to gain hands-on experience in my education program.
Tip for future students
Don’t be afraid to put yourself out there! Join clubs, attend campus events, and talk to people in your classes. It can feel overwhelming at first, but everyone is looking to make friends too. Also, take advantage of your professors’ office hours—they genuinely want to help you succeed.
Favorite class
My favorite class by far has been one of my education classes with Dr. Figueroa. She is amazing and I learned so much from her in just one semester. Everyday was something different. She kept learning super interesting making me excited for class every week!
Career goals
I hope to become an elementary school teacher and create a positive, engaging classroom where students feel supported and excited to learn while going for my masters in SLP! I’m currently gaining experience as a paraprofessional, which has strengthened my passion for working with children and helping them reach their full potential.
Ideal way to spend a free night
I love spending my free nights doing things for myself whether it be skin care or watching my favorite show!
