Grew up in China attending an international school in Nanjing, spent time back and forth between Nanjing and the greater Seattle area. Runner and biker, love using the Burke Gilman trail and enjoy the surrounding nature around greater Seattle area, especially for skiing in the winter season. Big foodie, enjoys cooking and loves good food from around world.

Clubs, organizations & involvement

Been involved in the UW human powered submarine team as a member of the propulsion sub-team, prior to this was also involved UW Solar Decathlon team as an envelope sub team member. Also been part of co-ed recreational intramural ultimate frisbee last year.

Describe your college experience

College experience has been great, coming here without knowing anyone to knowing dozens of people of so many backgrounds within and beyond my major's department has been an awesome experience. Meeting people really came from a mix of classes and the dorms common areas with classes in engineering becoming a lot more enjoyable when working collaboratively.

Tip for future students

One tip is for dormitory selection: is that west campus is more like urban living while north campus gives a more secluded campus like feel, but regardless of where you live I do recommend the dorms as a freshmen for a much easier time to meet new people. I also found that the Living and Learning communities (LLC's) were where I met most of my friends and they can be quite helpful to get to know people with common interests and shared classes so I do recommend them regardless of major but especially for engineering.

Favorite class

My favorite class at UW so far has been Math 125 (Calculus 2) with Dr. Andrew Loveless who is simply an exceptional instructor. This class had by far the best structure and approach to learning that I've experienced at UW with a perfect balance of difficulty and relevant material to what I felt I needed to know for my major.

Career goals

My goals after college are to work on transportation either in vehicle design with maritime shipping or the automotive side with my other to goal to be working on public transit and their infrastructure across the United States.

Ideal way to spend a free night

An evening at the HUB bowling alley is an awesome way to spend a free night on campus. Alternatively, I also love walking over to the IMA fields to play frisbee or soccer since they stay open into the night with outdoor lighting.

The high school I attended was Nanjing International School, in Nanjing, Jiangsu, China.
