I am from a very small town in Kirksville, MO, but I go to the University of Washington in Seattle. I am studying Statistics and Data Science and am also interested in other fields such as Marine Biology and Psychology. I also love dance, music, fitness, food, and hiking!

Describe your college experience

I struggled in my transition to UW because I came from a very small town. I would say I struggled most with making friends and feeling comfortable​/​ completely safe in the city compared to what I am used to. I feel as though schooling was an okay transition and I have continued to work hard and enjoy my schooling.

Tip for future students

Put yourself out there from the start. Be willing to be open and communicate with others by joining clubs and saying yes. Work hard in classes, but don't make it your entire life, there are so many cool experiences at college!

Favorite class

My favorite class was an international studies class on nuclear weapons because the professor was extremely engaged and the topic is sort of a niche topic that I enjoyed studying on.

Career goals

I hope to work for government security in some capacity, whether that be cybersecurity, nuclear security, or criminal security.

Ideal way to spend a free night

My ideal free night is self-care through taking a relaxing shower, getting my favorite food and drinks, and enjoying a TV show or YouTube video.
