I am a current senior, undergraduate researcher, and ballroom dancer at USC.
Greetings! My name is Maddy and I am a current senior at the University of Southern California. I study Computational Neuroscience and belong to a molecular neuroscience lab at Keck School of Medicine/Zilkha Neurogenetic Institute. When I am not studying or in the lab, I am a competitive ballroom and latin dancer (with a National title!) I am also a student worker and independent, low-income student.

Describe your college experience
My college experience has been really excellent. Despite having some serious health related setbacks I have met some really lovely professors and made life long friends. Along the way I've discovered a love for dance which has afforded me the opportunity to travel all over the west coast.
Tip for future students
I wish I had less judgement. I was very hard on myself to "do" college right and follow an arbitrary life plan I set for myself.
Favorite class
My favorite class was Ling 115 gw Language and Society with Andrew Simpson. It was genuinely such an interesting intersection between socio-anthropology and linguistics.
Career goals
I intend to pursue a PhD in neuroscience and post-doc with an emphasis on molecular neuroscience and neuropathology research either in academia or private industry.
Ideal way to spend a free night
Social dancing at SoHo or hosting a dinner/cocktail party (I'm the chef and the bartender)
High school or secondary school
Manchester-Essex Regional
Meeting point
Tommy Trojan Statue on the University of Southern California campus
