Describe your college experience
My transition to college was definitely a big change. Coming from so far away, I was worried that I would miss my home and family a lot. However, after the first week of classes and getting into a routine, everything started to fall into place. I began making friends in my classes and through my sorority, which helped me feel much more at home. Football season also gave me something fun to look forward to on the weekends. Now, my friends have truly become my Clemson family!
Tip for future students
One tip I would share is to get involved in clubs and extracurricular activities. They’re a great way to meet new people and make the most of your time at Clemson. I would also recommend taking advantage of the educational resources Clemson offers if you’re ever struggling, they can be incredibly helpful and make a big difference. Other tips that helped me were watching dorm videos to get ideas for extra items to bring and walking to each of my classes before the first day so I knew exactly where they were. One thing I wish I had done more often is say yes to opportunities, whether it’s going to dinner with a classmate, attending office hours, or checking out a Greek life event. These experiences can really help you build connections and make the most of your college experience.
Favorite class
My favorite class was my first Engineering Leadership course. Each week, we had the opportunity to meet a different experienced engineer and learn about their career journey. The class showed me how important networking is, encouraged me to stay curious, and taught me to take advantage of new opportunities whenever they come my way.
Career goals
I hope to become an engineer in the aerospace industry.
Ideal way to spend a free night
My ideal way to spend a free night would start with a walk along the Dikes at sunset with my friends. After that, I’d head to a cute spot near or in downtown for dinner, and end the night with ice cream from Handles for dessert.
