University of California, Santa Barbara
I’m a first year History Major at UCSB who loves surfing, music, and history.
I love surfing and the beach, making this a perfect location for me because the beach is a 5 minute walk away from my dorm. There is a great music scene here with so many local bands and band shows every weekend that I love to go to. I also really love history and find it very interesting, especially at the college level.

Describe your college experience
While the beginning was difficult because it felt as if I didn’t know anyone and the work was a shift from high school, eventually I made friends and adjusted to the work and now have a great time! There have been a lot of fun opportunities as well.
Tip for future students
The location for this school is amazing and there are a lot of very nice people. It’s also located in a very cool college town known as Isla Vista which has a lot of great events. However, don’t enter this school thinking the academics aren’t serious.
Favorite class
So far, my favorite class has been English 92FE-Fantasy and the Environment because it was super unique. I had never learned about one specific section of English in a class and I love fantasy as a genre. The professor was also very good at connecting the issues to real life, teaching me things I had never thought about.
