Describe your college experience
Transitioning to college was both exciting and challenging. Moving from a close-knit high school environment to a large university like UF pushed me to become more independent and confident. I quickly found a supportive community through the Honors Program and the University Research Scholars Program, which helped me grow academically and personally. So far, my college experience has been incredibly rewarding—I’ve had the chance to explore my interests, meet inspiring people, and get involved in meaningful opportunities on campus. I’m looking forward to what’s ahead!
Tip for future students
One tip I’d give future students is to not be afraid to step outside your comfort zone early on. Whether it’s joining a club, going to a campus event alone, or introducing yourself to someone in class, those small steps can lead to amazing opportunities and friendships. I also wish I had known how important it is to manage your time well—college gives you a lot of freedom, but staying organized really helps you make the most of it. And don’t hesitate to ask for help—professors, advisors, and peers are here to support you!
Favorite class
My favorite class so far has been my CURE research course through the University Research Scholars Program. I loved being able to dive into hands-on learning, ask real questions, and explore topics that genuinely interested me. It also helped me build critical thinking and problem-solving skills that I know will benefit me throughout college and beyond.
Career goals
After college, I hope to attend medical school and become a doctor. I’ve always been passionate about science and helping others, and a career in medicine would allow me to combine both in a meaningful way. My experiences at UF—especially through research and academic programs—have strengthened my interest in healthcare and deepened my commitment to making a difference in people’s lives.
Ideal way to spend a free night
My ideal way to spend a free night is hanging out with friends—whether we’re getting food, watching a movie, or just talking and relaxing. I also enjoy winding down with a good book or catching up on a show. Sometimes, a quiet walk around campus at night is the perfect way to recharge after a busy day.
