I’m from Wylie Texas originally! I’m double majoring in psych, and a bachelors in music at University of Arkansas. I’m an upcoming sophomore and my favorite activity on campus is attending football games, and basketball games or finding new spots on campus to study with my friends, because there’s so many pretty views! I work in Fayetteville during the school year and I went home to Texas for this summer, but will be staying in Arkansas for this next summer!

Describe your college experience

Going into Arkansas, I didn’t know anyone there, not even my roommate. Throughout my experience in Arkansas, I’ve seen many people and even met my current best friend in my dorm, who I will live in an apartment with this coming year. Without the community that forms bring, I would not have been allowed to meet her and have a lifelong best friend. I’ve had a better experience than I could’ve ever imagined in Arkansas, and I’ve had so much fun being able to experience so many new things and being surrounded by people in the same season of life as me. Although there were a lot of challenging moments and moments where I felt far away from home, Fayetteville now feels like my second home, and I am planning to stay here for a very long time and can’t wait to meet new people and have tons more experience in new places, and with a new people in Arkansas

Tip for future students

One tip I would give upcoming first-year students is not to worry too much about the little things. I was very stressed out that my original roommate could not attend Arkansas one week before we had room selections, and I thought it would be the end of the world. However, I ended up having a very sweet roommate even when she was a “random roommate”; we’re still in contact today. I was contemplating Greek life as well, which was stressing me out, and I decided against it. However, I think either way, I would’ve had just as an amazing experience as I’ve had in Fayetteville. Another piece of advice would be to attend all the events you can! The football games, basketball games, baseball games, and even the welcome week events. Each of these are so fun, and you can’t have a better time being around so many people who are there for the exact reason as you, to have fun, meet new people, and support Arkansas and our teams.

Favorite class

My favorite classes so far have been my choir and general psychology classes. I love my choir class because my professor was so knowledgeable, and he not only taught me about music-related things, but he also taught me real-world events and gave me life advice each class. Professor Caldwell was a fantastic professor, and I learned so much there and was challenged in my musical abilities. The other class that I liked was my general psych class. This class challenged me in many different ways. I only took it because I needed credit, but it intrigued me so much that I added my psychology Major! This class challenged me in many ways and made me realize the newfound joy I had in psychology and understanding how people's brains work, how people act the way they do, and why.

Career goals

I have been thinking about many different career paths. I love music, so I am thinking of creating, producing, and promoting my own music. However, I also love psychology! I am double majoring so that I have the ability to go either way that life ends up taking me and be qualified to do each one!

Ideal way to spend a free night

My idea of how to spend a free night is to grab some food to eat or try a new recipe that I’ve been eyeing on TikTok or Pinterest. After that, I usually make a dessert, of course, to go with it. After that, I’ll sit down and watch a few TikToks and then I like to settle in and watch a couple of episodes of Gossip Girl or Breaking Bad or find a new movie that I’ve been seeing reviews about on Instagram or TikTok.

High school or secondary school

I attended Wylie East high school in Wylie, Texas.
