My name is Max, I'm a Computer Engineering Senior at UIUC with a minor in Mathematics. I studied abroad at the National University of Singapore for the Spring 2024 term. I love sharing my experiences with others. I know I had so many questions during the college admissions and preparation process, I consider it a privilege to give others the guidance I was looking for myself.

Describe your college experience

My college experience has been both unpredictable and enjoyable. My transition to college was not easy by any measure, but since starting I've learned what helps and how to tackle the various hurdles along the way.

Tip for future students

Before starting school here, I wish I had known more details about the different living options on campus, specifically the tradeoffs. I thought many aspects of my housing choice would be significantly more important than they were, and consequently didn't focus on details that did matter. I also wish I said yes to others more during my first semester.

Favorite class

I think CS 225 has got to be a big contender; the course covered data structures that are relevant to every area of CS, and changed how I approach programmatic problem solving.

Career goals

After completing undergrad I intend pursue a PhD.
