Describe your college experience
Coming into college, I felt both excited and nervous. I was stepping into a huge school and didn’t know anyone, which was overwhelming at first. But things started to change once I connected with others in my dorm and got involved in clubs. Through those experiences, I found meaningful friendships and a strong sense of community. Now, I look back and feel incredibly grateful for how much I’ve grown and how much I’ve come to love UF.
Tip for future students
Don’t be afraid to ask for help and get involved early! Whether it's a club, research, or just a study group, putting yourself out there makes a huge difference. There's so much opportunity, you just have to claim it! But at the same time, give yourself time to adjust. It’s okay if it doesn’t all click right away.
Favorite class
Marine Ecology, I loved the hands-on labs, fieldwork opportunities, and learning how ocean ecosystems function and are impacted by human activity.
Career goals
I hope to work in marine resource management or conservation research, ideally with NOAA or an organization focused on sustainability.
Ideal way to spend a free night
On a chill night, I love grabbing boba or ice cream with a friend and watching a movie. Other nights I like to go out and experience night life in Gainesville!
