Describe your college experience
My college experience so far has been wonderful. I have met lots of interesting, kind people and have had some amazing experiences. The initial transition was difficult, but once I adjusted I found new independence and learned greater adult responsibilities.
Tip for future students
Before starting at UMD I wish I knew more about the major requirements and well as sought out and advisor earlier in my college journey, because there are some very confusing aspects and having a mentor is very helpful.
Favorite class
My favorite class was the Philosophy of Death. I had a great professor, and the class was structured in a way that allowed for more of a a discussion, forum setting rather than solely taking notes and tests. I also thought there was some interesting content and I learned a great deal.
Career goals
After college I hope to go to nursing school as well as becoming an American Sign Language interpreter.
Ideal way to spend a free night
On a free night I enjoy getting together with friends, whether it be in an apartment or out in college park. My friends and I have also explored some of the local areas, and I particularly enjoy the nature aspects of UMD and finding nice trees and spots to watch the sunset.
