Brie: UofSC Campus Guide
I'm a psychology student at UofSC that's loved living on and near campus. I know all the best food spots near campus, and the prettiest, most peaceful spots for studying, even when it's packed for exam season! I've worked in the library as well, so I know which floors are best for whatever kind of study vibe you want. Let me help you get the Gamecock inside scoop so your freshman year goes smoothly!

Describe your college experience
I've learned throughout college the best ways to find my people over the years, and how to balance life with those people and keeping up with homework. I've made lifelong friends that I consider family, learned coping skills for life balance, and the best studying habits for me! College has really been a great place for me to develop those skills and figure out who I am as a person in a lively environment that fits for me.
Tip for future students
You're all in a similar boat, everyone else coming to UofSC wants new friends too, so don't be afraid to directly ask someone to be your friend right off the bat, they'll probably say yes! I've made many friends that way, tracing all the way back to orientation. Remember though that if someone doesn't treat you with respect, don't push yourself trying to put up with unhealthy treatment. UofSC is an enormous school, with so opportunities to find your people and make new, healthy friends! Join new clubs, join study groups and attend campus events- put yourself out there!
Favorite class
I loved my makeup for theater class because we formed meaningful friendships as it was very small, and I had a lot of fun exploring different techniques with my peers and developing my creative side with guidance. It gave me several connections in the Theater field, and it actually inspired me to add it as a minor!
Career goals
I'm hoping to go into Experimental Psychology research, so I am hoping to get my PHD in that. As UofSC's lab culture is so positive and well developed, I'm hoping to go to grad school here in order to do that.
Ideal way to spend a free night
My roommates and I enjoy inviting all of our friends in our large friend group from classes/work/clubs to have dinner and get together for games and dancing at our apartment.
