Hi everyone! My name is Zhan and I would love to give you guys a private tour. I started at FSU in 2022, and I graduated in Spring 2025 with my B.S. in Management Information Systems. I have lived on campus all 3 years of my time at FSU, and I have lived in 3 different dorms. I spend the majority of my time on campus, and have lots of experience with the dorm life. Describe your college experience
My transition to college was amazing. I was very worried at first, as most students are, that I wasn't going to make friends. I knew a handful of people from my high school, but none of my best friends were coming with me to college. I was able to meet my best friends all through just knowing a couple people. They introduced me to their friends, and then before I knew it, I was part of a great community!
Tip for future students
I wish I knew how "small" this school felt, in a good way! Before coming to FSU, I knew this school had well over 30,000 students and so I thought finding a community would be difficult. This was farther from the truth. FSU's community is strong, resilient, and feels like a family.
Favorite class
My favorite class has been ISM4117, business intelligence. It taught me how to use softwares such as Alteryx and PowerBI, both softwares that will be beneficial to my future career. I loved learning how to use the actual software and that the class was super hands on.
Career goals
After I graduate in Spring 2026 with my MS-BA, I hope to work in consulting or analytics. I love using data to help a company improve their strategy and I would love to be able to use my skills in data analytics to make processes more efficient.
Ideal way to spend a free night
I am pretty extroverted so I love hanging out with friends. I know that my time in college is fleeting so an ideal night would be hanging out with the people I love. This could be a game night, movie night, dinner, or a night out. I just love spending time with them!
