Florida State University
I am a senior studying cyber criminology at Florida State University.
Hi everybody! My name is Lacey and I have been at student at FSU for four years. When I'm not studying, I love to go to FSU baseball games, read at the student union, and go see movies at the Askew Student Life Center with my roommates.

Describe your college experience
My transition to college was fortunately fairly easy for me. I felt truly independent for the first time, which was very exciting, however I did miss my family a lot initially. I also had trouble finding new friends in a new environment. Now, as I approach my senior year, I have continued to acclimate quite well to living in Tallahassee and being a student at FSU and I have found people that make being a student at FSU even more enjoyable.
Tip for future students
I would recommend to future students to take advantage of the resources given to you, do not wait until your senior year to go to career advising, make sure you take advantage of all four years given to you. I would also make sure to not get too carried away with your newfound independence, make sure you develop a good balance between your school and social life.
Favorite class
My favorite class that I have taken was a humanities class I took for a liberal arts requirement my sophomore year, multicultural dimensions of hollywood film in the 21st century. Although I do greatly enjoy movies, what I gained from this class expanded far beyond discussing films and delved into much more complex social structures and issues that we could identify in film. The conversations in class were always very engaging and intellectual, and our homework assignments were watching (usually) very good movies that I would not have seen otherwise.
Career goals
After college, I would like to work for a cyber security firm and help protect the intellectual property of companies and individuals. Eventually, after I have worked in cyber security for a few years, I would like to apply to the FBI and become an FBI agent.
Ideal way to spend a free night
My ideal night would be going to an FSU baseball game with my friends, and then going to my apartment afterwards to watch a movie or bad reality television.
