Clubs, organizations & involvement

I am a part of the competition Bhangra team here at Virginia Tech. Bhangra is a type of Indian folk dance and being a part of this team has given me an opportunity to connect back to my culture, despite being far from home. This team is like a family to me and has given me so many opportunities to get to know and meet so many new people!

Describe your college experience

At the beginning of my first semester, I struggled slightly with the transition to college, especially when it came to coming up with my own schedule and managing my own time. Since then, I think I have started to gain my footing and have found a proper balance when it comes to routines and habits.

Tip for future students

Some tips I have for future students is working on proper time management not only when it comes to academics but taking care of yourself too. It is easy to lose yourself and forget that your personal mental and physical health is just as important as your educational success so by properly managing your time and building better habits, you will absolutely flourish.

Favorite class

My favorite class so far has been my intro to engineering class. This class has provided me with a strong foundation when it comes to skills in engineering such as basic programming and CAD but through the group projects that allow you to conduct your own research and complete projects that you are interested in, my excitement to pursue a career in this field has only grown.

Career goals

After college, I hope to become an engineer for any company in space study, hopefully NASA. I have always been interested in rockets and satellites and everything to do with space so I hope to make this dream come true by building for a company working to learn more about worlds beyond our own.

Ideal way to spend a free night

My ideal way to spend a free night is to bundle up with a couple pillows and blankets on the couch and watch movies all night (maybe with some snacks too). I love all kinds of movies, may it be action, horror, romance, etc.
