Wake Forest University
Highly involved Junior from Boston, MA at Wake Forest University
Hello! I am a current junior from outside of Boston, MA, studying communication with a concentration in public advocacy and double minors in psychology and marketing communications. On campus, I am an active member in Greek life and on the executive committee for Kappa Beta Gamma (Beta), as well as a general member of a few clubs. After returning from my study abroad, I began working as a marketing and business operations intern for a start-up app on campus that was started through the Start-Up Lab program within the entrepreneurial department by current seniors. This is a great program teaching students the inner workings of business and entrepreneurship, where the university provides funding and brings in investors for students involved. Off campus, I am beginning a remote job in April as the director of marketing and communications for the School of Professional Studies at Wake Forest, the university's newest school of advanced studies. In the summer I work as a bartender on Cape Cod as well as am a legal services intern for a pro bono program through the Volunteer Lawyers Project in Boston, MA.

Describe your college experience
Student that had a difficult transition to college freshman year. Progressively better experience, especially after rush and study abroad.
Tip for future students
Be open to making friends. Freshman year can be very hard because it seems everyone around you already has a friend group. Do not be afraid to put yourself out there and try new things; you never know who you may meet.
Favorite class
Philosophy 161—bioethics. It was a class that faced very controversial topics head-on. We discussed every controversial topic relating to medicine and biology, such as abortion. The class had no choice but to develop good collaboration around topics people did not agree on. Did not just learn the material but also more about having meaningful discussion.
Career goals
Law school and work in corporate law, possibly for start-up companies.
Ideal way to spend a free night
Doing a workout class during the week either on campus or off campus. Trying restaurants in the Winston-Salem area, especially downtown, with friends. Cooking new recipes now that I live off-campus.
High school or secondary school
The Buckingham Browne and Nichols School, Cambridge, MA
