Hi, I'm Tohru A

Hello! We're a family of three from Tokyo — my wife, our 13-year-old son, and me — and this is our second trip to Los Angeles. We love this city, and we're so happy to be back. I'm Tohru. Honestly, studying abroad is a dream that we as his parents hold for our son — a future we can picture and quietly hope for. He's just beginning to fall in love with the English language, and we would love for this visit to UCLA to help that little spark grow. More than anything, we're hoping he can simply talk with you — a real UCLA student. We believe that meeting someone like an inspiring older brother, hearing about your life and your journey, could open his eyes and make his dreams so much bigger than they are today. If you could share a little about your everyday life as a student — what your days are really like on campus — I think it would be a wonderful inspiration for him. If possible, we'd be so grateful if you could speak in simple, easy English so my son can follow along — and we'd love to hear, in your own words, what makes UCLA special to you.
