Above Cayuga's Waters: SchoolScoops Guides Are Now Touring Cornell

ITHACA, NY — April 2025 — Cornell's founding motto — “any person, any study” — isn't just branding. Few universities let a student move between hotel administration, veterinary medicine, engineering, and the liberal arts under one roof, all on a campus set dramatically above Cayuga Lake, gorges and waterfalls included. SchoolScoops has now launched at Cornell to help prospective students actually make sense of that scale.
That breadth is exactly what a single scripted admissions tour struggles to convey. No one guide can speak to all of Cornell at once — but the right guide, matched to what a visitor actually cares about, can speak to the part that matters most to them.
That's the idea behind a private Cornell tour: prospective students choose a current Cornell student — an engineering major, a student-athlete, a transfer student, whoever matches what they're actually curious about — and get a visit built around their own questions instead of a fixed route.
Cornell launches with 33 current student guides on the platform, available for both in-person campus tours and video chat sessions for families who can't make it to Ithaca.
The Cornell launch continues SchoolScoops' expansion across the Ivy League, where campus scale and breadth make a personalized, one-on-one visit especially valuable. Browse Cornell guides here. Current Cornell students can apply to become a guide and earn $40/hour hosting tours. Counselors and educational travel companies can learn more about private group tours.
