Describe your college experience

I came to college in Connecticut from growing up California. There was a bit of culture shock for sure, especially with New Haven actually having seasons. I quickly fell in love with the city being that it is walkable and has many restaurants to choose from. Yalies are quite interesting and come from all across the US and the world. My favorite part of Yale is the multidisciplinary nature of each student's journey. There are computer scientist who excel at music, data scientist that take part in theatre and the arts, and econ students who take on a full schedule of athletics.

Tip for future students

Make good use of your advisor. Also, it's good to be proactive in going to office hours and having conversations with the professor.

Favorite class

My favorite class has been my language classes. As a STEM student who is always on science hill, it is nice to take classes in the heart of campus. I became fluent in Spanish and began to learn French while at Yale.

Career goals

I will be going into a masters in engineering and studying abroad. My love for languages grew while I was in college, so I want to be comfortably fluent in Spanish and French.

Ideal way to spend a free night

My ideal way to spend the night is doing a group activity with friends (e.g. working out, paintings, learning a dance) and then having a cosy movie night with chai tea.

High school or secondary school

Eleanor Roosevelt High School

Favorite spot on campus

My favorite spot on campus is the Jonathan Edwards courtyard. It one of Yale's oldest colleges. Most days are quiet and serene. The courtyard is framed by large trees and lined with flower beds.

Meeting point

Phelps Gate on the Yale University campus
