Pre-med student at UCLA

Hi! I’m Ethan, a psychobiology major at UCLA who loves sharing what makes campus life unique. As a student, I can give you an authentic perspective on academics, student life, and the everyday experience of being a Bruin. Outside of my studies, I enjoy playing board games, reading, and playing pickleball, so I’m always happy to chat about hobbies, fun things to do around campus, and ways to get involved. Whether you’re curious about UCLA’s academics, looking for student-life recommendations, or just want to get a feel for campus, I’d love to help make your visit informative, relaxed, and memorable! I’m excited to show you around and share my personal experience as a UCLA student.

Describe your college experience

My college transition was slightly rough at first as it was a new environment and I often felt homesick and had imposter syndrome. However, as I made new friends and joined clubs, I soon found communities where I belonged, and have since had a great time at college.

Tip for future students

I would suggest that future students try everything, and join as many things as they can. Find your community and figure out what you love to do.

Favorite class

Introduction to Health Humanities for shining a light on the lived experiences of patient and doctor, and how the medical field affects not only the physical, but also the mental and emotional health of its workers and patients.

Career goals

I hope to go to med school and become a doctor.

Ideal way to spend a free night

My perfect free night would be board games with friends, then we watch a movie, either at the theater, or on a laptop.

High school or secondary school

Whitney High School

Favorite spot on campus

Powell Library, a quiet place to study and read

Meeting point

Bruin Statue on the University of California Los Angeles campus
