Hi! My name is Ma’Kaila and I’m currently a Sophomore at Hofstra! My major is Psychology and I love all things that do with the human brain and behavior. I found my home at Hofstra the moment I stepped on campus! You can find me out, enjoying the social life, or in cuddling with my stuffed animals and watching a show. I embrace the real Hofstra for all its beauty and for its faults. I’m extremely honest and I’m never afraid to answer a complicated question.

Describe your college experience
It was way smoother than I imagined it would be. There were some bumps in the road but Hofstra and my friends were there the whole time to support me. And with accommodations Hofstra is truly amazing.
Tip for future students
It’s ok not to be ok all the time. You’re growing and adjusting as a new adult in this forever changing world. Embrace all that there is to it! And don’t be afraid to ask for help.
Favorite class
PSY 001, the teacher was amazing, it was a perfect re-introduction to psychology! And it helped me truly realize how much I love studying it.

The Quads, it’s beautiful in the spring time and beginning of the school year! Everyone can sit out there and just relax. It’s truly scenic.
