Friendly Pre-Med student who would love to help start your college journey

Hi! I’m Kendall, a sophomore student on the pre-med student majoring in Biomedical Physiology and an intended minor in General Business. I came to UGA from a smaller town in west Georgia, not knowing too many people, but this place has become home! I love all things UGA and you’ll catch me attending football games and gymnastics meets, eating in the dining halls, walking around north campus, or studying in one of my favorite spots! I’d love to give you all the tips from the lessons I’ve learned in my time here as well as answer all the questions you may have!!

Describe your college experience

Overall, I’ve had a really positive experience with UGA. At first, it is a little overwhelming being away from home and living on your own and there is definitely a learning curve on how to study and do well in your classes, and UGA has multiple resources to help students including post move-in social events and peer-tutoring. Once you find your study methods and your people Athens is one of the best places to get the college experience!!

Tip for future students

My advice for future students would be to take advantage of your resources and keep in touch with your support system at home. Keep doing the things you love, if you’re super big into your faith, find a church with your friends or if you played a sport, there’s definitely a intramural or club team to get involved with!

Favorite class

My favorite class so far has been Biology 1107, as I found the content interesting and enjoyed working on in class assignments with a small group.

Career goals

I hope to attend medical school with the goal of going into orthopedic surgery.

Ideal way to spend a free night

My ideal way to spend a free night is with my friends, there are so many options from going out to staying in for a movie night, but if I’m with my people it’s a great time no matter the activity.

Favorite spot on campus

My favorite spot is definitely north campus. The area that contains the arch, fountain and chapel bell is significant in the traditions and history of UGA, as well as being a gorgeous spot to sit outside and study!
