Hello, my name is Gabriel and I coming into my first year at MSU as a sophomore majoring in Actuarial science. I’m very chill and easy to talk to and I am very eager to answer any questions you may have for me and answer any questions you didn’t know you had. I’ll make sure you know the ins and outs of campus along with any and all lowkey study spots that I like. I look forward to showing you how to have a nice and calm time getting around campus without any FOMO or stress.

Describe your college experience

College has been a very welcoming environment where I feel like I am being adopted into a second family outside of home. I can’t wait to go to my first sport event and experience the atmosphere.

Tip for future students

I would advise new students to not plan their college experience too much. For me I thought too hard about my dorm, my classes, and the people I would meet. That overthinking made me needlessly stressed when I first got to campus. It is better to skip the stress and overthinking and let college teach you all the things you need to know when you get there.

Favorite class

I am looking forward to my calculus 2 class because I really love learning about math and how it is derived from real-world issues that needed to be answered.

Career goals

My plans are to graduate in 3 years and have already completed at least one actuarial exams and have a little internship under my belt. After I graduate with those credentials I plan to immediately find a job at, most likely, an insurance company and begin working my way up my career ladder. My super long term goal is to make enough to start my own business or take over my dead’s business in maintenance.

Ideal way to spend a free night

Currently my ideal free night is a night where I am able to pick my friend up from his respective University and take him to MSU and bring him around all my new friends and family while showing him around campus and showing him what my new college life has been like. My next free night would be spent at his University learning about his college life as well.

Favorite spot on campus

I really like to sit or walk along the river because the surrounding wildlife, especially the geese, remind me of walking along the river that is right behind my great grandmothers house. I love the familiarity of the river along with its pretty look.
