I am an outgoing neuroscience major who loves to go out with friends.
Hi, I’m Ava. I’m a freshman, my major is neuroscience and I’m on the pre-med track. I have lived near MSU campus my whole life and have always wanted to be a student here and now I am! I love roaming campus with friends, getting coffee and studying, going to sporting events, or having a cozy night in. I absolutely love the campus and the community that MSU gives you. Everyone here is so welcoming and supportive. I’d be happy to show you my favorite spots on campus. The best places to eat, cram for an exam, or get a quick coffee. I’d give you tips for how to get the best classes and make some great memories.

Describe your college experience
I have always loved MSU, the campus, the environment, and it’s so great to be a student there myself now. Everyone at MSU has been so helpful and supportive in this transition from high school to college. There are so many opportunities to get involved in different clubs and groups. The communication on all ends has been amazing and I can’t wait for the fall semester to start.
Tip for future students
Enroll in classes as early as possible to make sure you get the times and professors that you want. Make sure to get your student ID early as well, there are so many perks and discounts you can get with it, and on-campus places you can access with it as well. Get involved, make an effort to go out and meet people, college is going to be a lot more enjoyable if you don’t spend the whole time by yourself or in your room.
Favorite class
I have not had any classes in college yet but my favorite class in high school was probably AP Psych. I found the class very interesting and how much it related to real life, we did lots of activities that were very fun in that class as well.
Career goals
After college I hope to become a psychiatrist, I want to help people with mental health issues and neurological disorders.
Ideal way to spend a free night
My ideal way to spend a free night is going out with my friends, getting dinner, meeting up with other people, watching a movie, or going shopping. I also love spending time with my family so going out with them as well.

Favorite spot on campus
I love MSU gardens, they’ve always been a scenic spot that me and my family love visiting and a go-to spot for pictures. I also love the MSU student union. The environment in there is so great and I’m excited to be able to go there as a student.
