Hi! My name is Alex, and I am a student at the University of Georgia studying finance. I am actively involved on campus and enjoy meeting new people, sharing my experiences, and helping others feel comfortable in a new environment. At UGA, I am involved in the Society of Entrepreneurs and serve in a leadership role within my fraternity. These experiences have allowed me to connect with students from many different backgrounds and become familiar with campus life, student organizations, and the opportunities available at UGA. I have also completed professional experiences in finance, healthcare, and international compliance. Outside of school, I work as a bartender, which has strengthened my communication skills, patience, and ability to make people feel welcome. I would love the opportunity to show guests around UGA, share what makes Athens and the university special, and answer any questions you may have.

Describe your college experience

I have had an amazing college experience so far. The University of Georgia makes it easy for any student to find exactly what they are looking for, as well as discover new activities and clubs. I came to school knowing no one, but everyone was very outgoing and friendly, which made it easy to make friends. I could not ask for a better college experience!

Tip for future students

College seems very large and overwhelming at first, and it can be scary. My best tip is to remember that everyone else is just as scared as you are, so put yourself out there and don't be afraid to try new things.

Favorite class

The introduction to legal studies, a class through the Terry College of Business, has been my favorite. It was my first real introduction to legal studies and is what caused me to become interested in persuing law.

Career goals

I hope to graduate and then continue on to law school. Following law school I hope to become a defense attorney, and eventually become a judge.

Ideal way to spend a free night

On a free night, I'd finish up any work I had for the next day, go get a nice workout in, and then relax at my apartment pool with a few of my friends!

The Founders Garden is my favorite spot on campus. It is a hidden garden that is very beautiful and quiet. Perfect spot to study or to just relax!
