Nursing student with all the answers and none of the awkward small talk

Hi! I'm Vicki, a nursing major from not so far - NYC! Unfortunately, I had to trade the NYC MTA subways for the Boston T, BUT I've found plenty of reasons to love Boston. As a nursing student, my days can get pretty busy, so I've learned to appreciate the little things that make college fun: comparing dining hall foods from different campuses, walking the "res" near BC, student discounts at restuarants. As your tour guide, I hope to help you picture yourself in these moments. I'll share my favorite spots, fun BC lore, and all the nook and cranies!

Describe your college experience

Transitioning to college was initially intimidating. One of my biggest fears was not finding a group where I truly felt I belonged. Over time, however, I learned to step outside of my comfort zone. Living independetly also taught me to take ownership of my responsibilities, whether that is in academics or socially. These challenges became opportunities to be more resilient, outgoing, and connected to a community as welcoming as BC.

Tip for future students

Don’t only take pictures on nights out. Take pictures of your dorm, your friends eating together, random walks, and ordinary days. You’ll miss those moments more than you expect.

Favorite class

My favorite class has been Perspectives because it has challenged me to think critically, not only about texts but also about people, current events, and the world. The course encouraged me to consider different perspectives, question my assumptions, and engage in thoughtful discussion, which helped me become a more open-minded and reflective thinker.

Career goals

I hope to immediately start work as an RN in an ICU in preparation for graduate school.
