Brown University junior studying psychology!
Hi! I’m Nadya and I’m a junior studying psychology at Brown! I am excited to be a tour guide because I love sharing my love for Brown and everything I have learned as a student balancing academics, social life, and more! Brown is my favorite place, and I am always looking forward to chatting with prospective students! I hope to be a child clinical psychologist in the future, and am currently working in a child development lab. Outside of classes and lab, I am involved in the Brown Daily Herald where I work as a Copy Editor. I am also the Philanthropy Chair of Brown’s chapter of the Kappa Delta Sorority. Additionally, I am involved with Jewish life at Brown, including Chabad and Hillel. I am also a transfer student from Hamilton College. I am totally happy to answer any questions, especially about transferring, campus involvement, or the transition to college!! I look forward to meeting you :)

Describe your college experience
As a transfer student who didn’t feel a connection with my first college, I was slightly worried coming in that I would have a similar experience as my freshman year. However, Brown couldn’t have been more different in the best way. Brown has allowed me to figure out aspects of my identify, fall in love with my passions, and find my best friends that I’ll cherish forever!
Tip for future students
It’s totally normal to feel nervous when you first start college. Being in a new environment with completely new people can be super overwhelming, so cut yourself some slack if you feel nervous and remember that everyone else is feeling nervous too. However, also try to put yourself out there and try new things! Ask people to get meals, take a class in a new field, or do something spontaneous! College is the time to experiment and figure out your interests, so take advantage of it!
Favorite class
Although I have loved all the classes I’ve taken at Brown, Social and Moral Development with Dr. Julia Marshall specifically stood out as a super interesting class that made me interested in pursuing developmental psychology more! Because of this class, I started working in a developmental psychology lab and solidified that I wanted to become a child clinical psychologist.
Career goals
Become a child clinical psychologist!
Ideal way to spend a free night
Hanging out with my friends!! Whether it’s grabbing a meal, studying together, going out, or just having a chill night in, Brown has a bunch of fun options to take advantage of with friends!

I honestly love everywhere on campus, but some of my favorites include the Blue Room because I love grabbing lunch with my friends there, and the Metcalf Research Building because I spend a lot of time taking classes, studying, and working in my lab there!
