Hyper-involved pre-med neuroscience major and your personal UCLA insider
Hi! I'm Trisha, a junior on the pre-med track and sleep-deprived neuroscience major with an entrepreneurship minor. Having lived in LA my whole life, I have a breadth of experience exploring campus and the city with friends! You'll usually catch me running around campus and the track field for my marathon training regime, munching on delicious food at my favorite mall (Century City), or studying for my next midterm at the business library (word out there is that they have the best water on campus). I genuinely love campus, from the beautiful architecture to the cool hidden spots that most people miss if they haven't run around the entire perimeter at least 100 times. I'd be happy to show you the hidden gems, the best study spots for last-minute study prep, my favorite matcha place, and give you an honest review of my life at UCLA. Come with questions--I love talking about my college experience!

Describe your college experience
My experience at UCLA has been extremely fulfilling and filled with so many fond memories that I will look back on with a big smile on my face! Going into college, I was scared that I wouldn't make many friends in such a huge school, but UCLA has such a welcoming social atmosphere that it was almost impossible not to make such lovely, kind friends! Whether it's staying up late to study in Powell for an organic chemistry test, driving down to Marina Del Rey for free kayaking, or competing in Intramural sports with new friends, I definitely found the confidence I didn't have in high school to explore new adventures and build a life for myself that is setting up my professional future.
Tip for future students
Cherish the time you have with your friends, and always use weekends to your advantage to try new things or join a new club! You never know who you'll meet, and they might just end up becoming your future roommate and best friend! Don't be afraid to put yourself out there and ask for help when you need it. Utilize office hours as much as you can, and don't be scared to cold email someone if you need to get into a lab or want an opportunity (rejection is redirection!).
Favorite class
I absolutely loved my Neuroscience Anatomy class because it has been such an amazing experience to learn about the way we think and how our brain works, which is Neuroscience is my major to begin with! I really loved the lab assignments and getting to meet fellow excited pre-med, pre-PhD, and intelligent people!
Career goals
I am going to medical school to pursue my dreams of becoming a physician, somewhere in the field of neurosurgery or neurology! Additionally, I would like to start my own business, whether that is private practice or a global non-profit for international medical care in underserved communities/third-world countries. Recently, I have also gotten into acting, working for Netflix, Paramount+, and Disney, so I would like to pursue being an actress in movies and TV shows on the side!
Ideal way to spend a free night
I absolutely love eating out, so I would want to go to somewhere bustling in the city like K-town! I would get Korean BBQ with my friends and go to a nearby karaoke place, singing all our favorite songs (including Olivia Rodrigo of course!). Then, I would also love to stay up late talking, playing games, or watching a movie to end the night!

Favorite spot on campus
My favorite place on campus has got to be Jans Steps! I really love how open and inviting the space is. Whether I'm looking for a chill outdoor environment to clear my head and enjoy the view or take a few minutes to study in between class, I can always rely on Jans Steps to be that place. I also love having many club events on the grass and making memories with my friends there! I also use it as my personal StairMaster for my marathon training!
