Describe your college experience
At first, college was hard for me, as a first-generation student; I definitely felt like I did not belong. As school progressed and I learned study habits that worked for me, learned my schedule, and learned to manage my time, college became an unforgettable experience. I have found a way to love college and the school I am at. Making friends, exploring new places and study spots, college has become something I want everyone to experience.
Tip for future students
Try to say yes. Saying yes is something I wish I did more. From joining clubs, making friendships, and just experiencing life, I wish I said yes more often. I also wish I was fine with failing. I have not failed a class, but failing to submit something on time, not been able to solve a problem, etc. I wish I knew that it is ok to make mistakes and that learning from it is the most important part of navigating college.
Favorite class
My favorite class so far has been Cognitive Science. I found it very interesting to learn about how the brain functions. Although it is a requirement for my major, I believe that my professor made it the best class possible. He was very engaging and made learning very interesting and fun.
Career goals
I hope to get my master's to become a child development specialist or a child psychologist. I enjoy working with children; I would be able to help them work through problems and be a voice for them.
Ideal way to spend a free night
My ideal free night is spent with friends, exploring the new town I live in. I enjoy going to the beach to watch the sunset and just watching movies with my friends.

Favorite spot on campus
My favorite spot on campus is McHenry Library because it is huge and one of the quietest places to study. There are study rooms you can book or seats where there are beautiful views of the campus. I also enjoy Stevenson Coffee House; I believe this is the best cafe on campus, it is always full but worth the wait, and you can use your dining dollars. It is also one of my favorite spots to do my work or just hang out with friends.
