Entertainment Management Junior @ University of Central Florida
I am Claudia Solis, a UCF junior. I am 21 years old, and I'm from Panama. I love hanging out with friends and ensuring everyone is comfortable. I enjoy doing outside/recreational activities, such as going to the gym, running, and spending time at parks. On the more personal side, I am a commited person towards my goals and ambitions; I am resilient, committed to honesty and trust. I take myself very seriously and also those who surround me. I like getting the job done and well, through excellence, innovation and creativity. Nonetheless, I prioritize my well being, and give myself time to relax and do fun activities. Although I seem like a serious person, which is true, thats not all I am. In fact, I love being the comic relief person and making people laugh. Being there for others fulfills me and pushes me to be the best version of myself.

Describe your college experience
Transitioning to college was not easy, but it creates character and is essential for growth. Setteling to the student life took a lot of time. However, my experience at UCF has been amazing. I've had the opportunity to meet amazing people, from friends, to faculty members, and business people. UCF inspires, and is commited to help students build a professional life.
Tip for future students
Becoming independent without a manual is overwhelming, especially when your loved ones are so far away. I recommend keeping up with people as often as possible so as not to fall into a void. Speaking of, always have something to do. Whether you are a transfer student or an incoming freshman, you will likely start from zero, completely on your own. Then, try to invest in yourself. Go outside, take the first step, talk to people, cook nutritious food, and exercise. I believe the way you treat yourself determines how you and others perceive you, so it is important to never forget about you. Academically, check your inbox daily and Canvas (the student platform) weekly. Make sure to adjust yourself to schedules. If you are looking forward to a new job or joining a club, in my experience, UCF has flexible schedules, which is an advantage. Yet, take the time to create a proper schedule that allows you to study, take care of yourself, and work (respectively).
Favorite class
My favorite class has been Introduction to the Entertainment Industry and Business in Entertainment. The first class provides a broad spectrum of what entertainment is, teaching how cast the options are in the industry. The professor, Rita D'Angelo is very good, and always encourages students to look for internships and dive more into the industry. Business in Entertainment is the perfect class to create a Business Model focused in entertainment. The professor, Jose Nieves, was always expecting us to deliver creative analysis while building an imaginary business. This class teaches what is working under pressure, think critically, and analyse different aspects of business, such as delivery channels, customer segmentation, and revenue streams.
Career goals
I hope to become a creative manager or a creative producer, whether it is on festivals, theme parks, or theatre.
Ideal way to spend a free night
