Describe your college experience

It's been an amazing experience, though a busy one. The opportunities, new friends, and new experiences here are truly unmatched. Michigan can be tough to navigate at first, but once you get a good feel for how things work, it becomes so much easier to tackle. That's exactly what I love helping new students with.

Tip for future students

My biggest tip: don't be afraid to put yourself out there early. Join clubs, go to events, and talk to people, because that's how you find your community. I also wish I'd known it's okay not to have everything figured out right away. Use your resources, ask questions, and lean on the people around you. Everyone's still finding their way, and Michigan gives you plenty of support to do it.

Favorite class

My favorite class has been English 125, which is actually a required course for freshmen. Writing was never my strong suit, but this class gave me the skills I've leaned on for the rest of my time at Michigan. What made it click was getting to explore topics I actually cared about, and analyzing all kinds of media, from articles and books to videos. We did a bunch of different projects too, including a final on a topic of our choice. I dug into how endorphin release helps students, analyzed board games, and did a critical analysis of art pieces. It was low-pressure, I learned a ton, and since it's required, you'll get to take it too.

Career goals

After college, I'm leaning toward a career in consulting, but I'm also keeping a strong focus on AI. I think it's going to play a huge role in our future no matter where I end up, so I want to be ready for it. For now, I'm staying open, building the right skills, and figuring out exactly where those two interests meet.

Ideal way to spend a free night

My ideal night starts with an evening walk through the Arb, which is one of my favorite spots to unwind on campus. From there, I'd head back to my sorority house to get ready with my friends, because honestly that part is half the fun. Then we'd go out to dinner at Sava's or Slurping Turtle, both unbeatable, before spending the rest of the night together making the kind of memories that make college what it is.

Favorite spot on campus

My favorite spot on campus has to be the Arb. It's the perfect escape when things get busy, and there's so much you can do there. I love sitting by the river to clear my head, having picnics with friends when the weather's nice, or going for a run through the trails. Having that kind of natural space right near campus is something I never take for granted, and it's a place I always recommend to anyone looking to unwind.
