Describe your college experience

I think my favorite part of going to college so far was all the different kinds of people I met. Regardless of where you come from you end up meeting people with completely different lives from you which gives you so much valuable perspective that can change your life, especially after living in the dorms. While leaving home is tough, rightly so, higher education has created a freedom for me that has changed me as a person. Responsibility, friendship, and passion is what you have to gain.

Tip for future students

Get into research and talk to your professors! Talking to your professors will give you the help you need and possibly research offers and advice that can change your education for the better. Your education is yours to create, your classes, your schedule, your passions.

Favorite class

My favorite class has been my Cognitive Psychology class, Psych 20. While the material was basic though interesting, my professor Bryan Holbrook made the class super fun and interesting and somehow held my attention and captivated me despite the class starting at 7:50pm.

Career goals

Possibly research, speech pathology, schools psychologist, or HR.

Ideal way to spend a free night

Whenever I have free time I love to go surfing, being out in the water is so relaxing and resets me from difficult weeks. Especially in the evening I enjoy surfing till sunset and watching the beautiful views of Santa Cruz from the water. I also enjoy hanging out with friends, hosting movie nights, or going to the movies.

Favorite spot on campus

I love to go to Oakes Cafe order a spicy chicken sandwich and a thai tea and walk down to west field and sit in the grass. There is beautiful views of the forest and ocean and its my place to rest and reset while I’m on campus.
