Hi! I’m Kaitlyn, a sophomore at UCLA majoring in Public Health and planning to attend medical school. Coming to UCLA from San Diego was a huge transition, so I know how exciting—and sometimes overwhelming—the college search can be. I’m involved in volunteering and campus organizations, and whether you’re a prospective student, parent, family member, or just visiting campus I’d love to answer your questions honestly while showing you what daily life at UCLA is really like. Describe your college experience
Moving away from home was definitely an adjustment, but UCLA quickly became a place where I felt supported and challenged. I’ve met amazing people through my residence hall, classes, and volunteering. There are so many opportunities to get involved, and I’ve learned how important it is to balance academics with making time for friends and campus activities.
Tip for future students
Don’t be afraid to get involved early. Go to club fairs, introduce yourself to people in your dorm, attend office hours, and explore campus. UCLA can seem big at first, but once you find your community, it starts to feel like home.
Favorite class
Biology (Life Science series) has been my favorite class. It challenged me to think differently, and I enjoyed building a strong foundation for my future career in healthcare.
Career goals
After UCLA, I hope to attend medical school and become a physician while continuing to advocate for community health and improving access to healthcare.
Ideal way to spend a free night
Grabbing dinner with friends in Westwood, walking around campus, getting boba, and relaxing after studying. Sometimes I’ll attend a campus event or just enjoy a sunset at Janss Steps.

Favorite spot on campus
Janss Steps. It has one of the best views on campus, especially around sunset, and it’s a great place to relax between classes while taking in the UCLA atmosphere.
