Describe your college experience

Coming to UCSB was a big transition, but it quickly became a place where I could explore new interests and challenge myself. I switched from a theater background to majoring in Computer Engineering and Mathematics, which was a huge change but one I'm incredibly grateful for. Along the way, I've gotten involved in research with the MilliQan Experiment, the Gaucho Rocket Project, ACM, and served as a Resident Assistant. These experiences have helped me grow both academically and personally. I'd love to share what I've learned and help prospective students feel confident about making the transition to college.

Tip for future students

My biggest piece of advice for incoming students is to surround yourself with people who truly understand and support you. Being extroverted definitely helped me make friends, but even with a large social circle, I always had a smaller group of people I could truly rely on. Having that support system makes a huge difference, especially during your first year. Housing is another big thing to think about—finding people you enjoy living with can make your college experience so much better. And if you're living on campus, I'm a little biased, but I think San Nicolas (San Nic) is the best dorm at UCSB!

Favorite class

My favorite classes at UCSB were CS 24 and Theater 5. CS 24 gave me a strong foundation in data structures and prepared me well for technical interviews and the tech industry. Theater 5, on the other hand, taught me how to be more open, communicate confidently, and connect with people from different backgrounds. Together, these classes helped me grow both professionally and personally.

Career goals

After college, I hope to work at a tech company in the U.S. for a couple of years to gain industry experience, learn from talented engineers, and grow professionally. My long-term goal is to use that experience to build and work full-time on my own startup.

Favorite spot on campus

Don't tell anyone, but the corner tables in the library are the best study spots. And if you ever need a break from the noise, the little amphitheater in the Music Building by Storke Tower is one of my favorite places to relax.
