A Irish Exchange Student
Hi! My name is Connor, and I'm a Business Studies student from Dublin City University in Ireland, spending the academic year at the University of Central Florida as an exchange student. I enjoy meeting new people, working as part of a team, and creating a welcoming environment for others. I'm enthusiastic, approachable, and excited about the opportunity to help prospective students and their families experience everything that makes UCF such a great place to study.

Describe your college experience
My transition to college has been an exciting and rewarding experience. Moving from a smaller town in Ireland to Dublin for university helped me become more independent, adaptable, and confident in meeting new people. Through my studies, involvement in societies, and participation in Gaelic football, I have developed strong connections with students from different backgrounds and made the most of the opportunities available to me. My college experience has helped me grow both academically and personally, and I look forward to sharing my experiences and helping others feel welcomed as they begin their own college journey.
Tip for future students
Get involved as early as possible and don’t be afraid to step outside your comfort zone. Joining clubs, societies, and sports teams is one of the best ways to meet people and make college feel like home. Also, remember to balance academics with enjoying the experience and making memories.
Favorite class
My favorite class has been Financial Markets because it combines my interest in finance with real-world applications. I enjoy learning how markets operate, how investment decisions are made, and how global events can influence financial outcomes.
Career goals
After college, I hope to build a career in finance, particularly in areas such as investment management or financial analysis. My goal is to continue developing my skills, gain industry experience, and use my knowledge to make informed financial decisions.
Ideal way to spend a free night
My ideal free night would be spending time with friends, whether that’s going out for food, attending an event, playing sports, or simply relaxing and enjoying good company. I enjoy being social and making the most of the opportunities around me.

Favorite spot on campus
As an incoming UCF student, I’m excited to explore campus and find my favorite places. From what I have seen, the Memory Mall stands out because it represents the spirit and community of UCF, bringing students together through events, traditions, and campus life.
