Hello, my name is Joshua Campbell and I’m a sophomore at UCSC! I’m currently pursuing a double major in biotechnology and legal studies hoping to make a career in biological patenting. I love to play basketball and guitar during my free time as well as exploring the woods and beaches around campus.

Describe your college experience

My college experience so far has been pretty great, like most people it took a little bit of adjustment to get used to college life, but I found my way pretty quickly. I’ve been able to enjoy the nature around campus as well as different events in the town and on campus. I’ve made a bunch of new friends and branched out with different groups of people making my experience even better.

Tip for future students

Go to LOTS of events and gatherings on campus especially during welcome week. Making friends is easier than you think you just have to put yourself out there!

Favorite class

My favorite class has been my Stevenson core class. I was able to have it for 2 quarters and I liked it because we got to read a lot of interesting texts and had full class discussions that ended up being really fun.

Career goals

My hope is to go into biotechnological patenting after graduation.

Ideal way to spend a free night

My favorite ways to spend a free night is to go out exploring campus or downtown with my friends as well as having game nights in the lounge with my friends.
