Describe your college experience

I had a hard transition from high school to college. In high school, I had a large community and I was the top of my class. College was a rude awakening. I struggled to find my community and to keep from drowning academically. It took me over a semester and a half to join a sorority, balance my classwork, and force myself into new community to truly make UVA my dream school. Now, I can't imagine being anywhere else.

Tip for future students

My best tip for future students is to get involved in as much as possible as soon as possible. Your first year of college is going to be scary and overwhelming, but the only way to make it better is to push through the fear and find your community. Your people are out there, but it is unlikely that you'll just fall into them. You have to actively pursue making college home.

Favorite class

My favorite class at UVA has been 'Issues of Life and Death." It was an entry level philosophy class that sparked my love for philosophical debate. I had a professor and a TA that invested in my rhetoric and debate skills.

Career goals

I plan to apply to law school and​/​or work in the field of policy and political non-profits after undergrad.

Ideal way to spend a free night

My perfect free night would be spent with friends. I am very outgoing and active. I'm not picky about what we do. I'd go to dinner on main street, play on the pickleball courts, get ice cream at the dinning hall, or have a movie night at my sorority house. I'm down for anything as long as I'm with my friends.

Favorite spot on campus

My favorite spot on Grounds is my sorority house. I struggled with community in my first year and my sorority is where I found my friends. From late night study sessions to movie and craft nights. My sorority house is not just a hub for joining together, it is a symbol of my college transformation.
