Junior studying Applied Math + Economics
Hi! I'm Irene, and I'm a junior interested in business, eocnomics, and math! I'm part of a variety of student organizations on campus, from business to dance to academic conferences. I love meeting new people and trying everything that Brown has to offer! I'm excited to share more about my Brown experience and happy to discuss whatever you may be curious about! Note on availability: I'm available for tours in the summer! Unforturnately, I'm not available from August 24-September 4 since I'll be in BOLT (one of Brown's amazing programs:)), but feel free to book times earlier in the summer or reach out to find a time that works for both parties!

Describe your college experience
So far, Brown has been such an amazing experience of growth, excitement, and adventure. I'd compare it to the Ben & Jerry's Mini Vermonster because of the freedom you have over your college experience. From taking classes outside of my major to joining club workshops to exploring the city of Providence, there's always something new to do and someone new to greet!
Tip for future students
It's ok to struggle and ask for help. Have an open mind and try new things. Don't forget to take care of yourself. Remember that the faculty and staff are there to support you. Be bold!
Favorite class
Choreography with Professor Shura Baryshnikov. This class completely changed the way I think about dance, movement, and choreography. I learned to try the "weird" things and embrace movements that broke the traditional standard for aesthetic dance. Even though this was centered around choreography and movement, I believe this course also taught me to embrace the process/journey over the result, and to not be afraid of challenging the norm.
Career goals
I hope to work in finance or entrepreneurship and help founders and businesses grow, with a bonus if I can work abroad for a bit.
Ideal way to spend a free night
Exploring a new restraunt in Providence, hanging out with friends, practicing ballroom, watching a movie
High school or secondary school
Bellaire High School
Favorite spot on campus
The library in the Philosophy Department building, since it's such a cozy area.
Meeting point
Van Wickle Gates on the Brown University campus
