Describe your college experience
Transitioning to Northwestern was scary at first, but turned out to be incredibly positive. Northwestern has so many mechanism in place that allow for a smooth and fun transition, through events like "First Night Northwestern." Getting involved in other student groups in clubs has been easy and allowed me to make friends across campus. Lastly, I have loved exploring everything both Evanston and Chicago have to offer, and it has made me feel at home.
Tip for future students
It is totally okay to not be sure what you want to major in yet. Some students come dead-set on certain paths, but Northwestern has so much built in flexibility during your freshman and even sophomore year. I encourage every student to try out classes across different disciplines and see what piques their interest!
Favorite class
My favorite class was actually my Freshman writing seminar called "The Irish Culture Boom." The Freshman seminars are designed to be small, discussion based classes that also serve as writing workshops. I especially enjoyed this seminar because we got to explore various forms of media including films, television shows, and literature. The class made writing feel engaging and creative, and the small class size allowed for closer connections to peers and the professor.
Career goals
I hope to combine my interests in Social Policy and Global Health by going into a Public Health or Health Policy role.
Ideal way to spend a free night
I love to try a new restaurant in Evanston or take the train into Chicago with my friends!
