Applied Physics Undergraduate

Hello! My name is Kyle and I am entering my fourth year at UCSC as an Applied Physics Major. I've been in a social club for 2 years now, and together with my friends we've explored a lot of what this school has to offer. I'd love to be the one to showcase what about this campus my friends and I love so much.

Describe your college experience

At first, I didn't actually like college that much and missed being a highschool student. However, after a while being on my own, I feel like my identity as an adult really began to form. At this point I love being independent and attending classes; living as my own self separate from my parents.

Tip for future students

Get involved! Whether it be academic clubs, social clubs, research with your professors, getting involved with what the school has to offer is the best way to make use of your opportunity attending university.

Favorite class

My favorite class was my first year Physics class because of my professor. Dr. Dhar might have been the best lecturer I've ever learned from and was so welcoming and accommodating despite teaching a class of 300 students.

Career goals

I plan to take my masters in Mechanical Engineering after graduating from here and pursue a career in that field once I finish school for good.

Ideal way to spend a free night

Cooking, eating, and talking with my favorite people. doesn't matter what we make, what we talk about, as long as I'm with my people I'll be happy.
