Describe your college experience
Though I haven't had the experience of living on campus, I can definitely say I have had a great one regardless. I have met so many incredible people, and learned so much not only about what I am pursuing as my career, but about myself! It was definitely an adjustment at first, but I do not regret choosing UM in the slightest, and I wouldn't take it back for the world.
Tip for future students
Keep an open mind when it comes to everything! Just because you feel a little out of place at first doesn't mean that that's a bad thing. Its normal! There are so many students who feel the exact same, so give yourself some grace as you get adjusted to this new environment. Also, get involved! The best way to feel a sense of belonging is to immerse yourself in the things that interest you from what UM has to offer (which is a lot!). Join a club, you never know what friendships you could make along the way!
Favorite class
My favorite class so far has been my first semester calculus class. Not so much because of the math, but because of the professor and the learning environment that we were in. She was sometimes a bit harsh, but only because she really believed in our ability to succeed. Not only that, but she made class so fun! She made an effort to learn all of our names, which is hard in a college level course, yet so telling of her character nonetheless. I truly enjoyed this class, and I'm very grateful to have had her as my professor.
Career goals
I would love to work in the industry for medical devices, so maybe at a company like Stryker or Johnson & Johnson. Then later on I would really like to develop my own device and start my own company, because I want to change the world!
Ideal way to spend a free night
I love to stay home and watch a fun movie with my sister and family, or even go grab a nice dinner with friends!
