2nd year in Public Health | Pre-Health | Remote Area Med | Sorority life
Hi! I'm going into my second year at UVA and interested in majoring in Global Public Health or Human Biology. I'm a firm believer that college is what you make of it, and even though it was challenging initially, UVA has definitely become my second home because of the wonderful people I've been able to surround myself with. I'm excited to show interested students around the university that I've come to love, including classroom buildings, popular study spots, dorms, dining halls and The Corner. I can offer insight on the College of Arts & Sciences as well as experience with popular pre-health prerequisites. I've been involved in multiple organizations on Grounds including Remote Area Medicine, Alpha Delta Pi Sorority and Run Club that I would love to share with future Hoos.

Describe your college experience
I had a pretty rough transition to college- I felt really stressed during my fall semester about "not doing enough" for my academic or social life, even though I was trying my best. I felt as if I was just trying to get through the first semester. Thankfully, things totally turned around my second semester. I felt like I finally had a grip; managing challenging coursework, extracurriculars and time with my best friends. My spring semester gave me a glimpse into the life I dreamed of in college.
Tip for future students
I wish I'd known to have more grace with myself through the transition to college. I think its really easy to feel guilty about not quite having it figured out yet.
Favorite class
My favorite classes at UVA have been Medical Sociology and Introductory Organismal & Evolutionary Biology. Medical Sociology taught me so much about the exploitative and discriminatory practices within medicine and motivated me to chase change within this field during my future career. It inspired me to want to be an advocate for minority populations within healthcare. Additionally, my first biology class at UVA was extremely interesting, as it went in-depth on how evolution shapes the form and function of organisms today. The class encourage my preexisting motivation to pursue science.
Career goals
I hope to become a Physician's Associate and provide care for underserved populations.
Ideal way to spend a free night
My perfect night at UVA is spent with my friends, having fun on The Corner or hanging out in eachothers' rooms.
