I'm a junior at Duke University majoring in Cell and Molecular Biology and minoring in Computational Biology and Bioinformatics and Global Health. I also work closely with the Department of Asian American and Diaspora Studies. I conduct translational medical research and volunteer at the Duke Hospital and aspire to pursue a MD-PhD degree in the future. On campus, I'm involved in various student organizations, including greek life, performance​/​dance group, community service, living learning community, student social organization, academic support, student leadership, etc. I'm super talkative and outgoing, and I'm willing to share about my personal college experiences.

Describe your college experience

My experience at Duke has been wonderful! It definitely took me some hard work to get used to the pace of classes here during my freshman fall, but I had so much fun meeting new friends, exploring different student organizations, and enjoying Duke's wonderful sports scene. From the different people I met here and the classes and experiences I had, I learned many new perspectives and about myself and felt inspired. Everyone here truly works hard and play hard. I'm having a lot of fun while getting my goals accomplished with all the opportunities offered here.

Tip for future students

Duke has so much to offer, and you will definitely be able to find something you are interested it and your group of people. The classes are intellectually challenging, and everyone here is super hardworking and inspiring, but there's also so many ways to have fun. I would say just dive in and enjoy the experience. You get out what you put in.

Favorite class

Microbiology, I learned so much about microbes and immunology. The lab component was very fun with many hands on laboratory skills that would benefit anyone pursuing a career in the medical field. The professor was very approachable and knowledgeable and down to earth.

Career goals

Pursue a MD-PhD degree and become a physician-scientist doing translational cancer immunology research
