Describe your college experience
Transitioning to college has been both exciting and rewarding. As a Computer Science student at UCSC, I've learned to balance challenging coursework, personal projects, and extracurricular activities while becoming more independent. Along the way, I've strengthened my problem-solving skills, collaborated with classmates on projects, and explored areas like software engineering and AI.
Tip for future students
Don't be afraid to ask for help—whether it's from professors, TAs, classmates, or campus resources. Start assignments early, attend office hours, and get involved in clubs or hackathons to meet people with similar interests.
Favorite class
My favorite class has been CSE 12 because I enjoyed learning how computers work at the hardware level. Building and designing logic gates was especially fun—it was rewarding to see how simple components combine to create complex systems. The hands-on projects gave me a deeper appreciation for computer architecture and strengthened my problem-solving skills.
Career goals
After college, I hope to become a software engineer, building innovative products that solve real-world problems. I'm especially interested in artificial intelligence and machine learning, and I plan to continue developing my technical skills through internships, personal projects, and graduate studies. My long-term goal is to contribute to impactful technology that improves people's lives.
Ideal way to spend a free night
My ideal free night is spending time with friends, grabbing good food, and unwinding after a busy week. If I'm staying in, I enjoy working on a coding project, watching a movie, or playing games. It's the perfect balance of relaxing and doing something I enjoy.
