Friendly & Chill Tour Guide
Hello, my name is Lin! I am a Linguistics and Cognitive Science double major. Beyond academics, I enjoy crafting, theater, activities in nature, and reading mystery/classic novels. I am also a very open person, so feel free to ask me anything, especially if its about being queer or Asian American on campus! I look forward to connecting with you!

Describe your college experience
My transition to college was definitely easier than others' because I was raised to be independent and I also did not move that far from home. My experiences have been mostly positive; I've gotten to be very social and felt welcome by peers and professors. I also adore the nature on campus.
Tip for future students
I wish I had known exactly how laid back the academic culture was (I came from a very aggressively academic high school). I would say that students place a lot more emphasis on activities beyond education like volunteering or social life, but that there still is a push towards academic success and working hard. I wish I knew more about the 10 different colleges on campus as well.
Favorite class
My favorite class has been Semantics 1 because the professor and content was really engaging to me. The Linguistics department at this university have been nothing but friendly and knowledgable. The class overall covered how words get their meanings by themselves and when put together, and is very interactive in assignments and lectures.
Career goals
I hope to become either a speech language pathologist or a clinical therapist. I really enjoy working with others and helping them better understand themselves.
Ideal way to spend a free night
My ideal way to spend a free night is relaxing at home, either watching or reading something, with a good meal and dessert. If I really got to have everything I wanted, there would also be a cat sleeping on my lap.
